Multidisciplinary Artists
Since the first time Norma grabbed a crayon, art has been part of her identity. At the age of 12, she started her classical training as an artist, at the Martin A. Malharro Superior School of Visual Arts, in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Norma dreamed of moving to the US since she was little. Her dream became a reality when she moved to California at 22 years old. At the age of 26, she started her own business as an Architectural Illustrator, and went on to work for some of the largest firms in the US.
Currently, she has turned her talents to writing and illustrating children's books. Since 2012, she has also been teaching art at an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. Through the free expression of art, the healing process begins, helping the kids to overcome their difficult circumstances.
In cooperation with child psychologist Niels Peter Rygaard, head of research and Founder of Fairstart Foundation in Denmark, Norma has trained the staff at Casa Hogar “Casa de la Esperanza” in Tijuana Mexico, in quality care practices.

A wordless book
The loose pencil sketches in black and white narrate the story of an orphan child abandoned in a city.
The children of Casa de la Esperanza.
It is a collection of 60 portraits of orphans from Casa de la Esperanza Orphanage in Tijuana. The comments are from the children and now young adults who wanted to share a few of their thoughts.

The books Rostros, her wordless book, "a life, an orphan" and her latest books, "Emma's Dream" and "Emma's Diary" are the product of her journey with these orphans, and they tell stories of hope. Encouraging words and imagery from someone who lived a similar experience can ignite a beautiful hope!
The dream of every child is to live in a happy family. When a child is separated from their parents, a big hole is created in their hearts. They may end up in an orphanage with other kids who share the same circumstances, but the hole in their hearts needs the nurturing of a family. Emma's Dream is the product of my journey with kids in an orphanage in Mexico. To adopt a child is an act of pure love.
