The story is about a little orphan girl living with 6 other kids in an orphanage.
The story is about a little orphan girl living with 6 other kids in an orphanage. She dreams of having her own family, until someday her dream becomes a reality. The illustrations are rendered with graphite pencil, colored pencil, and watercolor. The dream of every child is to live in a happy family. When a child is separated from their parents, a big hole is created in their hearts. They may end up in an orphanage with other kids who share the same circumstances, but the hole in their hearts needs the nurturing of a family. Emma's Dream is the product of my journey with kids in an orphanage in Mexico. To adopt a child is an act of pure love.
A wordless book
A wordless book of 66 pages. The loose pencil sketches in black and white narrate the story of an orphan child abandoned in a city. He encounters many difficult situations, ends up at a train station where a lady sees him and rescues him taking him to an orphanage where she is the Director. He realizes other kids are in the same situation as him and in a moment becomes part of a big family. Goes through school, suffers bullying and difficult times as an adolescent. Then he enters College, works hard and graduates as a Teacher. His family are the orphans, he returns there and is received with a big sign saying " Welcome Home Teacher! " The story tells us about the risks and vulnerabilities of a child being alone at a young age, the resilience of a human being, and the victory of overcoming difficulties. The story is based on a real life of an orphan in Mexico.

The children of Casa de la Esperanza.
Each one of the portraits in this book were part of the Rostros (Faces) art exhibit presented at Tijuana's Cultural Center (CECUT) in Mexico. It is a collection of 60 portraits of orphans from Casa de la Esperanza Orphanage in Tijuana. The comments are from the children and now young adults who wanted to share a few of their thoughts. Norma’s hope is to reinforce each child’s uniqueness and importance, and at the same time, open up a door to art and creativity for each of them. All profits from the sales of this book will go to Casa de la Esperanza Orphanage. This book includes both English and Spanish translations
